By now we've all seen the Romney camp's egregious attempt to make political hay out of the tragedies which unfolded in Egypt and Libya.
I would just like to propose that, in addition to attacking Romney for politicizing a tragedy, we also stage a counter-offensive, to wit:
Romney is attacking the American embassy staff at the front lines.
Romney is leaping on the statement from the embassy staff in Cairo, a statement that was released prior to the violence and in an obvious attempt to defuse any escalation.
The escalation regrettably happened, but here comes Romney trying to second guess the brave embassy staff in the field.
His first response was to tear down our civilians serving the nation, in harm's way.
Implicit in the response is that, indeed, Romney is criticizing the actions of embassy employees and staff who are exactly like the envoy to Libya, may he rest in peace.
In conclusion, let's not get defensive about Romney attacking a fictitious Obama statement. Let's just go on the attack: Romney is attacking the embassies which were dealing with the crisis.
