Some good news today from PPP's latest poll on the Montana Senate race. PPP polled 656 likely voters between September 10th & 11th and the latest poll gives Democratic Incumbent Senator, Jon Tester, with a two point lead over his Republican opponent, Denny Rehberg. Tester, 45% & Rehberg 43% with 3% still undecided and Libertarian candidate, Dan Cox, getting 8% of the vote.

This is great news because past polls have showed the race being tight and have had Rehberg with the lead. PPP goes onto explain why the race is still tight:
Montana voters aren't actually happy with the job Tester's doing. The negative ads have taken a toll and only 46% of voters approve of him to 48% who disapprove. But Rehberg's even more unpopular with just 42% of voters happy with the job he's doing in the House to 52% who disapprove. This is the third Senate race in the last two weeks, along with Ohio and Florida, where we've found both candidates under water. That's just the new reality with the amount of outside spending being done on negative ads.
Both candidates have their party base pretty much locked up- Tester's winning 89% of Democrats and Rehberg has 88% of Republicans behind him. Tipping the balance to Tester overall is a 41-33 advantage with independents.
“We’ve polled the Montana Senate race five times and the candidates have been within two points of each other on four out of those five polls,” said Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling. “It couldn’t be much more of a toss up.”
The poll also shows Republican House candidate, Steve Daines with a very slim lead over Democrat Kim Gillan. 40% for Daines, 37% for Gillian and Libertarian candidate, Dave Kaiser, getting 9% of the vote.
Of course Romney leads Obama in the Big Sky state by 5 points. %0% for Romney, 45% for Obama. Glad to see Tester with a lead. Lets help him secure his re-election and maintain our majority in the Senate. Donate to his ActBlue page:

Lets also help put the gavel back in soon-tobe Speaker Nancy Pelosi's hand and help get a Democratic majority again. Here's Kim Gillan's ActBlue page:
