For many, many, many good reasons, recent polls have shown President Obama increasing his lead on Mitt Romney since the end of the Republican convention.
One result of that, as we have seen, is Mitt Romney flailing and acting more desperate. But another is polling data that bodes well not only for the President, but for Democrats in Congress. Per Nate Silver, the generic battle polls are shifting.
This kind of shift may be a temporary result of a convention bounce. Or it may be the beginning of the kind of wave necessary to return Democrats to the majority in the House and retain the majority in the Senate. Doing so would end the goofy (I am being kind here) investigations of Darrell Issa, and put the Democratic party in the best position to deal with serious budgetary matters that are coming up quickly.
We have less than two months to maximize the results of this shift.
