Disclaimer: This is an analogy, I am in no way implying that I think Romney should be subjected to a conspiratorial murder plot. Here's the analogy: Treat Romney's 2012 Presidential Campaign like Rasputin's Death. Just becasue he looks like he's dead, or should be dead, don't assume that he is.

As much as I appreciate the recent positive polling news and the golden Romney screw-up of Libya et. al, and as much as I understand this is starting to look good--we still have two months and things can change.

Rasputin was stabbed by a hooker once and he survived. Later a conspiracy lead by Prince Yusopov poisoned him with cyanide cakes and wine. When that did not work they shot him. When he attacked them after being shot they shot him again three times. Then they beat him and wrapped him in a rug and dumped him in the Neva River. His final cause of death was drowning.

Until November 6th, we need to operate under the assumption that any day could produce a "game changer" and that no amount of negative exposure is enough for the Romney Campaign or the general absurdity of Republican policies. As bad as Romney may get, as many mistakes as he can make, this is not over until the polls close on November 6th. I don't mind reading about the "death stench" of his campaign, and that certainly explains the bizarre behavior, but this still is not over until it's over.

I hate to mention this, but if Republicans maintain control of the House, it won't be over then either. No matter how decisively Obama wins on November 6th, if the Tea Party Nuts Jobs still run the House, you know they will find a way to bring up impeachment, because after Obama's re-election, this is the only direction the reality-challenged, racist, magic-thinking Republican base can go. Newt's House impeached Clinton, you don't think these nut jobs will find some way to follow suit? So, we better find a way to flip the House too.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
