Republicans are and will be taking action to suppress the votes cast at early voting polling places because Democrats tend to win the early vote and lose both the absentee and election day vote. If the lines are long at early voting sites, then it tends to supress the votes of Democrats.
We can combat this strategy and even render it completely ineffective by voting like Republicans. You can vote absentee or vote on election day. But waiting to the last day to vote may be relatively inconvienient so it might suppress your vote.
That leaves absentee voting. Most of the swing states (and counties in those states) under Republican control allow no excuse absentee voting by mail, check here for the status of your state:

Voting by mail typically takes less time and effort than voting in person. Check your county or state board of elections web site to learn the process. Some states are already mailing out ballots.
In some states, a voter can request a ballot by mail for all of the voter's close relatives. I used this to help my daughter in college vote in the last general election.
But for goodness sake vote.
