So you have contempt for the 47% who will vote for Obama. So you think we are not paying taxes and want everything because we are entitled to it. Uh Mitt I think you may have a problem.

Let’s start with entitlement shall we? You know I live on Social Security. You know the program you and your running mate want to destroy? I have been working and paying into Social Security since I was a teenager. It is my money that I am living on. The government was just borrowing it and now I want it back. Of course this means I am barely above poverty level but you wouldn’t know anything about poverty would you? You were born with a silver spoon and you and Ann never had to struggle. You ate tuna well that is better than the seniors who are eating cat food because they can’t afford people food.

I didn’t pay taxes last year because I am barely above poverty level. I suspect you didn’t pay taxes like many of the richest corporations in the United States because you used every loophole you could find to avoid paying your fair share. See that is the difference between the rich and the poor. We don’t pay taxes because we can barely survive. You don’t pay taxes because you are rich and can work the system.

I didn’t know that food, shelter, medical care were entitlements. Gee silly me I thought they were necessities to live. Then again you have houses that have elevators for your cars. We are trying to keep the rudiments of shelters over our heads. You can afford gourmet food. We cut out coupons and hope we have enough money for the cheap stuff. You get the best medical care your money can buy. I have to go without medical care until I can get on Medicare next year unless of course you and your cohort get in then I can only hope my life insurance policy pays for a cheap funeral because your voucher system will make sure I get no medical care because of preexisting C.O.P.D.

What I really want to talk about is the veterans who are not on your laundry list. I buried my Vietnam veteran brother last week. You remember Vietnam don’t you? It was the war that you wanted other people to fight while you hid in France. It was the war that destroyed my brother’s life while you lived it up in French chateaus. You know what veterans are don’t you? That is something your five sons will never be. You and your whole family avoided serving your country in that way. Veterans are the people you ignore while wanting us to fight more than one war at a time. Veterans are the people you can’t bother to put on your laundry list.

People who serve their country are something that you have no real comprehension of. You know the four people who died serving their country? The people whose warm bodies you stood on to make your smirking pronouncements? Those people are something you will never be. They are true patriots.

So this is how it stands Mitt. I may be poor but I am part of the poor that will make sure you cannot buy the Presidency. I am the daughter of a veteran of World War II. I am the sister who gave the eulogy for my Vietnam veteran brother, whose life was destroyed by war. I am part of the 47% who will triumph when Barak Obama is reelected for the second term. I owe it to my brother who fought while you hid in France.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
