I can't imagine an election in England having 5 non-English people given such prominence, such plum gigs, to babble opinion.
Maybe, as a kitsch offering. "...and now for a divertissement, let's hear from those zany Americans!"
but instead, in our country, at least every other day one of the 5 people granted bloviation privileges is a brit-like accent speaking foreigner.
How has this become normal?
Not to mention that one of those has a fucking broadcasting license, and another is the editor of a weekly publication.
And also, isn't it interesting that none of those bloviating foreigners has a Spanish, or Carribean, or Asian accent.
For the sake of a future that is inclusive, that embraces diversity, it seems essential, now, to be nativist about the flagrantly partisan - since it's obvious to any honest listener that these are conveniently Republican voices disguised as objective commentators - offerings that the media pushes on us.
I'm not anti-foreigner per se, but I am appalled that these people are offered voices, daily, while Millions of authentic voices are muted.
