Obama seems to be pulling further away from Romney in the latest polls, with just weeks until the election, and Romney presently busy trying to stave off examination of his comments about the 47%.
Great, right?
Indeed. Yet...I suddenly find I have a nagging doubt.
Could it be possible that Obama having a comfortable lead would lead some lukewarm supporters to stay home, assuming Obama will win so they smugly stay home so they can boast that they refused to vote for him (he wasn't Left enough, or didn't get Gitmo shut down in the face of Congressional opposition, or whatever), while Republicans are desperately driven to the polls trying to stave off "certain defeat"?
Just seeking a little a reassurance during a moment of doubt.
