This just popped...hidden camera video of a young woman claiming to work for the El Paso County Clerks office looking to register only Republicans.
Interesting video...updates when available.
Update: The County Clerk, Wayne W. Williams, has posted a response to the youtube video regarding the "pre-screening" of potential registrants:
Colorado law permits parties to do so. Both the Democratic and Republican parties engage in various forms of pre-screening as permitted by Colorado law.
Update, from the Gazette:
Neither the volunteer on the recording nor the patrol could be tracked down Sunday. But some who saw the video were outraged, demanding an investigation of County Clerk and Recorder Wayne Williams, a Republican.
Williams said the woman, though, doesn’t work for his office, which oversees local elections and voter registration. Instead, he said, she’s probably one of the scores of volunteers who are hitting the streets for both political parties to push voter registration ahead of the Nov. 6 election.

From the youtube comments:
Excuse me??? You are suggesting that it is appropriate to ask party affiliation first and then proceed with registration? Are you serious?
Which awful statement are you making:
1) That you can lead with a poll and then register or
2) That you can ask Republican or Democrat and then decide to proceed with a registration on the basis of the answer?
That is NOT how it is supposed to work. Voter Registration is supposed to be a NON-PARTISAN activity.
