There was a recent article about a woman, in Miami who was caught helping seniors fill out their ballots. I live in Florida and wondered immediately about Scott's involvement.
After some research I found that Rick Scott was a featured speaker in August, 2012 at the Florida Health Care's annual convention. The audience for his speech were 400 professionals, representing different long term skilled nursing facilities. He was also given a special award for his "continuing support." With his power and influence how hard would it be to commit voter fraud in some of these facilities? Voting a straight Republican ticket perhaps.
I decided to investigate other suspects. I found that in 2010, before he was sworn in as governor, Scott Walker and the state's health care agency visited the headquarters for WHCA and WICAL These are both agencies supporting assisted and long term skilled nursing care facilities. He also put a cap on enrollment for Family Care that allows seniors to stay in their homes. Forcing some to pay the steep charges of nursing homes. He removed this cap, with great political fanfare, only because the federal government made him.
Tommy Thompson will be a featured speaker at the annual convention for WHCA and WICAL this September.
I realize this is a complicated situation that needs in-depth analysis.
