I was away from the keyboard all weekend, but you already knew that.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
If you'd like to be part of the Itzl Alert Network, please leave a comment asking to join, or send us a message asking to join. We'd love to have you. The bigger our network, the less likely someone will be stranded all alone.
I spent it in Texas at <FenCon, hoping to rustle up some more money for OctopodiCon, through more enrollments for OctopodiCon, or by soliciting loans or donations from friends in the area, and even hit up a family member (the only one left in my generation).
Edited to Add: I heard this morning that a friend will lend us the final amount of money we need to squeak through. I can pinch pennies until they give change, so we'll see how far we can stretch this!
I didn't know that the webmistress let the online enrollment form expire so no one could buy enrollments, because I didn't have access to a computer. I'm not sure how many enrollments that cost us. Not many, but every enrollment counts.
Other than that disappointment, everything went well enough. A slight hassle over having Itzl with me.
So here's a picture from the Egyptian Tea and Mummy Unwrapping:

Hope your weekend was pleasant and your week off to a good start!
