Alright then, it’s FUN to throw pie at the faces we don’t like in the arena of Politics.  We’re told  ”people have been doing it” for a long time.  If we show some seriousness about the issues it balances -off and leaves us not feeling too frivolous.  Well I’d like to trade a bit of the frivolous action for more of the serious stuff.  And that’s unlike Homer Simpson telling you he wants to see less donuts and more course cereal.  So I’ve been working on something I’ve long envisioned—which in today’s climate of bumkinesque—I personally think we need desperately.

Submitted then for your inspection is YOU THINK GOV.  What is it?  The somewhat crude graphic I’ve included shows a mock-up of a front page for a web application placed on an actual website.

just the pics

The work deals with finding a way for people to act in the best spirit of Self-Governance.  It also sets the stage for providing a clean filing system for “the voice of the people” to be gathered and a simplified method of organizing references and other data.  The allusions to a clean, like-it-or-not-here-it-is system of measuring public support is fairly obvious.

The references to “printed-up money” and its cost over time are designed to get people to think about “creating money out of thin air” to pay for all of the facets of “National Defense”—which only a fool would believe is limited to guns and armies—but which extends to include all of the issues “the group” must raise before “the individual”.  So how much money does it take?  Should Social Security payments start to be decreased after somebody has made their first ten million?  Shouldn’t I be able to get early SS payments at 10 times their present value since I’ve saved populations now and in the future untold amounts of money with this introduction of a new-fangled system of self-government?   Somewhere in the midst of all of this are sliding scales that must be set according to circumstances---that’s what rational self-government is all about in this modern era.

I’ve put up about half of the pages that will complete this and will do an update here when it is finished.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
