Getting a scholarship to attend Netroots Nation is not easy. We have to earn it, and the committee can't make everyone happy.
At the same time, we can make strong efforts to stand out and get at least within striking distance. What are key things you can write so that you stand out and why? Are there successful essays I can read so I know what I need to do for my own story?
I really hope I win a scholarship. I am a recent college graduate. I will likely be in medical school starting next fall. Therefore, future summers after next summer will make it hard for me to go to Netroots Nation conferences. I wish I met Markos, Joan Mccarter, Democratic politicians, activists, and etc. You all inspire me.
I am volunteering at a free clinic helping to break down barriers in health care for underserved populations, including those of Hispanics. Health care is my major issue I am passionate about.
What is your advice?
