I worked for Kerry's campaign. I felt positive. When he lost, I had to shake myself out of zeal and recognize what a loser campaign he ran.

After reading today that Paul Ryan purchased a GUN for his 10 year old daughter in OHIO

I was reminded of Kerry's lame-ass pandering when he went "hunting" during the campaign.

Both thankfully and regretfully, Obama never tried to portray himself as a "hunter," but he steered clear of any gun control issues. Politically astute, I guess.

But I wince at John Kerry doing the debate preps with Obama. True, he can represent a wealthy out of touch white guy. And I know jack shit about Portman.

But you have to think the very cunning Rethugs have something up their sleeves.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

Seriously?  If the Republicans are "cunning", they sure haven't shown it up until now.  And don't tell me they're "holding it in reserve", either.  You don't wait until you're getting creamed to unleash your cunning plan.

If so, I think that's a good thing.  In the 2004 election, I only paid attention to the election when the debates started and Kerry won me over because of how right-sounding (as in right, not wrong, not right-leaning) he was.  His answers made it clear he was putting what Americans wanted first, above what he wanted, while Bush made it clear what was most important to him would be what dictated what path he took, never mind those pesky citizens.

Plus, Kerry's appearance at the DNC recently invigorated people's image of him in a very positive way.

Is a pretty normal age for a kid to get their first gun. I was 11 when I got my first shotgun, a single shot 20 gauge.

I was taught to shoot at around 8.
