Really, I don't know what the deal is w/ you coastal Dems. Frankly, I'm a bit tiffed. Did you not see how we won states like IN, or are going to win VA? What precisely did you think ... that we could stand back and do nothing while the public option was in play? (Yeah, we lost that one, but at least all five IN congresspeople voted for it back in '10).
I realize that it's easy to abandon us. We have a serious Senate race here in IN. There are also major Senate races going on in VA, MT, and WI. What are YOU doing for them?
The thing that really PISSES me off about Kos, is that so many of you aren't going to get out there and WORK. We NEED you to work. The studies show that if you talk to your neighbors, and are willing to make a few calls, then this makes all the difference in the world.
Now I love to watch Rachel (Maddow) and Chris (Mathews) and Chris Hayes as much as you all do. But - stated as a RED STATE DEMOCRAT - and a proud Indiana veteran of the Obama win in '08 ... I gotta say, why are you not making calls? You can do it over the 'net for the DNC, or the Obama campaign, or your own Sen candidate. What is the situation w/ your house candidate.
Why in the world are you blathering, and NOT WORKING for us Dems?? What's your excuse. We need person-to-person contacts, the research shows that this is what makes the most difference. I don't give a hoot what makes YOU feel better - what you have to do is what makes our party most effective.
We, here, in Indiana ... will sadly have to live under Mike Pence as our new Gov.
Can you please make some calls for our President? Can you please accept this appeal from a red state Democrat? So many people knocked doors within an inch of their lives here in the home of the KKK.
It's time to get out there and make a difference.
If we could win Indiana in '08 for Barack, then you can do something too. Besides posting here.
I wish we had a site for Red State Dems. Our situatoions are different. We need support. I don't know why we have to do this, like we're some kinds of dwarves who labor in the dark. I'm totally tired of that. It's time to recognize us as equals. We have done great work in the past, what's wrong with us?
