In today's New York Times, there is an article comparing the debate prep being done by Romney and Obama. Below is the paragraph that reminds me of the Seinfeld episode (called "The Comeback") where George wasn't able to think of clever comebacks to someone in his office so he memorizes and practices his "jerk store" zinger. He tries to lure his prey into a conversation where he can use it, but, of course, it fails terribly. It sounds like Romney is doing something similar as he tries to bait Obama about the economy. Let's try to imagine some of Romney's zingers and how badly he will fail to make a dent in the president's cool.
Mr. Romney’s team has concluded that debates are about creating moments and has equipped him with a series of zingers that he has memorized and has been practicing on aides since August. His strategy includes luring the president into appearing smug or evasive about his responsibility for the economy.
