In the name of the 47 Percent I just donated $47 to the election campaigns of President Obama, Senator Claire McCaskill and Patrick Murphy, who is running for Congress against that reprehensible Allen West. I would've given more, but that's all I can afford right now.
Anyway, I'm hoping those of you who can will give $47 to selected Democratic candidates locked in tight races across America will do so. As you know, Dems are looking more likely to retain control of the Senate and could possibly take back the House. Several Dems need our help and support to make this happen. Voting is the most important thing we can do, but contributing to these campaigns is a close second. Like it or not, political campaigns have to spend big money to be competitive.
We cannot afford the likes of Mitt Romney, Allen West, Todd Akin and GOP neanderthals like them to win. So, in the name of the 47 Percent, we must put our money where our mouths are because there is a lot at stake.
Here are the web sites for many of the Democratic candidates I hope you'll consider donating $47 to:
President Barack Obama: barackobama.com
Senator Claire McCaskill (Missouri): clairemccaskill.com
Senator Jon Tester (Montana): jontester.com
Senator Sherrod Brown (Ohio): sherrodbrown.com
Senate Candidate Tammy Baldwin (Wisconsin): tammybaldwin.com
Senate Candidate Heidi Heitkamp (North Dakota): heidifornorthdakota.com
Senate Candidate Tim Kaine (Virginia): kaineforva.com
Senate Candidate Elizabeth Warren (Massachusetts): elizabethwarren.com
Senate Candidate Shelly Berkley (Nevada): shellyberkley.com
Senate Candidate Chris Murphy (Connecticut): chrismurphy.com
House Candidate Patrick Murphy (Florida-22nd District): patrickmurphy2012.com
House Candidate Christine Vilsack (Iowa-4th District): christinevilsackforiowa.com
And when you donate on-line, say something about the "47 percent" in the comments section. You can also put "47 Percent" as your middle name if a comment section isn't available. I did that and the site still accepted my donation.
Donating $47 has tremendous symbolism and will send a strong message to Mitt Romney and those of his ilk who lie on, dismiss and despise American citizens they callously refer to as "those people." So please let's go viral with this by sharing this campaign via social media -- Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, etc. I'm making a special appeal to those of you with me in the DKos Tweeters group to help promote this campaign using this hashtag: #GiveADem$47
I probably missed a couple of tight races, but you know where they are and who/what they're about. Election Day is slightly more than a month away. Let's do this Team Blue.
