I missed Lawrence Odonnell's riff on Willard's envy back in January. Of course, it's not the only one of the seven deadlies Willard displays even as he ascribes them to others. Funny how people can see in others what they don't recognize in themselves.
But, the Mingies have an affinity for a lot of 'e' words. In addition to envy, they like entertain, exploit and economize. "Entitled" not so much. And their understanding of the economy is peculiar -- economize, a euphemism for stingy?
FOX is "entertainment" TV.
So, perhaps, in the lingo of the self-centered, "to entertain" means to detain and propagandize. Other people are mere objects to somehow exploit. Like "entertaining an idea" and then promptly discarding it.
I do think it is worth exploring how these people think, if only to avoid being exploited by them. If we know what they are after, we can deny them, what they are not entitled to have.
When you think about it like that, it becomes clear why the word "entitlement" is unpleasant to the mingies' ear. It's probably been used a lot to deny them what they want.
"No, you can't have Susie's doll. You're not entitled."
Willard seems to think that when someone has bought something, he's entitled to ownership. That would explain why he said about the two-year visas that are to be issued to undocumented residents, who were brought here as children, that he wouldn't take away what they had "purchased."
If he thinks that if one pays for it, one can have whatever one wants, that would explain his manic accumulation of lots of money. It is supposed to get him what he wants.
But, if that's the case, then it follows that Willard doesn't really want to be President, this time around, and explains why he's not paying for the campaign.
Does someone who extorts money from others qualify as a freeloader?
