The first poll conducted entirely after the debate was just released by Reuters/Ipsos. It has Obama leading Romney 48-43, almost the same as their latest online tracking poll which had it at 47-41. The headline is "Romney gains ground", but I'm not sure 1 point is a lot of ground, and definitely won't be enough to fundamentally alter the election. Romneymentum!
Edit: almost all the movement in the pre-debate to post-debate polls came from democrats and republicans, not independents. On the economy, independents went from favoring Romney 32-22 before to favoring Obama 29-25 after. On medicare, independents went from favoring Obama 27-24 before to favoring Obama 29-21 after. On the jobs, independents went from favoring Romney 19-31 before to even at 28. Mitt Romney's favorability remained unchanged among independents at 44-56, while Obama's increased from 46-54 to 54-46. Overall it went from a 48-39 Obama lead to 48-43, mostly from shoring up wayward republicans. Not a game changer.
