The Romney campaign's new Ad features Tea Party supporter, Melanie McNamara, who owns Absolute Furniture in North Carolina. McNamara claims she voted for President Obama in 2008 but now she will vote for Romney.
Apparently, Melanie McNamara has ties to the North Carolina Tea Party.
McNamara's ties to Tea Party Caucus Member Rep. Howard Coble:
Melanie McNamara hosted a rally for Romney in August 2012 where she told the newspaper that she thinks the Romney Campaign got her name from her long-time friend, Tea Party Caucus member Rep. Howard Coble.
How that all happened, McNamara said, she’s not sure. Perhaps U.S. Rep. Howard Coble, whom she and husband Michael met several years ago when they bought dinner with him at a charity auction, passed her name along.
Certainly Coble, R-N.C., speaks highly of her, saying she “digs her heels in and gets things done.” The congressman attended a ribbon-cutting for her expanded furniture plant earlier this year, sitting in with a bluegrass band on a version of “I’ll Fly Away.” McNamara said Coble’s High Point office also helped her navigate the confusing world of British fire regulations before she began shipping furniture to the United Kingdom.
Coble's US House website says Rep Howard Coble is a
Tea Party Caucus Member:
U.S. Rep. Howard Coble (R-NC) said he has decided to join the new House Tea Party Caucus ... the Tea Party Caucus will promote many of the same ideals that Congressman Coble says he has advocated during his long tenure in Congress.
“According to its mission statement the House Tea Party Caucus will serve as an informal group of members dedicated to Americans’ call for fiscal responsibility, adherence to the Constitution, promoting free enterprise, along with limited and more efficient government. These are principles that have long guided my votes in the past, and will continue to do so for as long as I serve the people of the 6th District.”
In July, McNamara was featured in Campaign Ad for Tea Party Favorite Pat McCrory
The News Record newspaper goes on to explain that Tea Party favorite Pat McCrory introduced McNamara to the Romney people
In July Republican gubernatorial candidate Pat McCrory stopped by to talk business regulations and taxes, and to film a short online video.
McCrory’s people called her to set up the July meeting, then recommended her to Romney campaign staffers, according to spokesmen for the two campaigns.
.
McCrory's Campaign did the same thing Romney is doing -- McCrory also did Ads showing Democrats voting for McCrory. The only problem is, Melanie McNamara is not a registered Democrat, she is registered Independent"
In GOP McCrory's Ad, Melanie McNamara said:
“I believe North Carolina should reform our tax system to level the playing field for businesses. That way existing companies can afford to stay here and grow in North Carolina. I believe Pat McCrory is the only candidate who will actually take action and reform our tax system, allowing my company to flourish.”
~Melanie McNamara, July 2012 Campaign Ad for Tea Party backed Pat McCrory
McNamara told the paper that before she donated to McCrory’s campaign this year, the only political donation on her record was a $250 contribution to Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
McNamara has ties to Tea Party favorite Justice Paul Newby
On her company's facebook page are pictures of Tea Party backed Justice Paul Newby speaking to McNamara's employees. The Title to the Facebook Photo caption states;
Justice Paul Newby speaks to Absolute Style employees on the importance of our Supreme Court. Thank you Justice Newby for upholding our constitution.
Melanie McNamara is actually very involved in the North Carolina Republican Party. On Sept 5, 2012 she spoke at Schoolcraft Country
Republican Party event where she said her community is worse off in 2012 than it was in 2008 when the US Economy was losing 700,000 jobs per month.
