These are not Democrats saying these words; these are Mitt's fellow (R).
Everyone wondered why the President looked so... grim... for much of the "debate" and the speculation ran from the high altitude (which can be hard for many people, I hear... never been in Denver myself but it's a mile above where I live!) to lack of preparation to lack of sleep to Syria to he's a lightweight wanker who needs to be tossed out of office, because he could not be bothered to "show up" at the debate.
After watching this video, I began to remember Mr. Romney's wife's own words, and went to the source (Reuters, in this case) for accuracy:
"In an interview Thursday with television station KTVN, Mrs. Romney was asked what her biggest worry was should Mitt Romney be elected to serve in the White House.
"I think my biggest concern obviously would just be for his mental well-being," she said. "I have all the confidence in the world in his ability, in his decisiveness, in his leadership skills, in his understanding of the economy. ... So for me I think it would just be the emotional part of it."
"We're not going to let our campaign be dictated by fact-checkers," Romney pollster Neil Newhouse said recently.
And then, I started to wonder if, through his manic bouncing at the podium, his flush of excitement, his need to interrupt the moderator and control the flow, the constant 180-degree swivel of opinions and policies to appeal to the greatest number of people at any given moment in time, the pathology of Mitt Romney's lies became obvious... and the President suddenly recognized it, as many would, as the illness it is. He's certainly met with his share of the world's leaders, by now - and a lot more diverse kinds of people in his life - to recognize it. Perhaps the President simply did not want to push that button, as a human gesture, in front of that many millions of eyes.
I'm not a mental health professional. I've had counseling and found it beneficial and cleansing; it gave me the strength to change my life and I recommend it (particularly group therapy by someone who specializes) highly. So I only THINK there could be pathology there, based on my own experience in life.
Given the breadth of agreement of Mr. Romney's status as a serial liar in this video, IN THEIR OWN WORDS, I find it difficult to understand how - HOW - can the people in this video now support Mitt Romney's election? Are they so oblivious to the problems this could create for the country... for the world?
Or do they simply think, ""All we have to do is replace Obama. ... We are not auditioning for fearless leader. We don't need a president to tell us in what direction to go. We know what direction to go. We want the Ryan budget. ... We just need a president to sign this stuff. We don't need someone to think it up or design it. The leadership now for the modern conservative movement for the next 20 years will be coming out of the House and the Senate.... Pick a Republican with enough working digits to handle a pen to become president of the United States. This is a change for Republicans: the House and Senate doing the work with the president signing bills. His job is to be captain of the team, to sign the legislation that has already been prepared." (Grover Norquist)
If the Grand Old Party has become THAT cynical... to ignore a possible mental impairment in a potential President of the United States... that gives me the coldest shivers I can imagine.
But again, I'm not a mental health professional, and the above is simply the musings of a Saturday night/Sunday morning in chilly October, just before the voter registration deadline.
REGISTER. VOTE. HELP OTHERS DO THE SAME.
It's that important.
