Yes, he f'ed up at the debate but otherwise it's been an amazing run by his team. Maybe Obama made a mistake at exactly the wrong time and will lose because of it but it is not fair, correct, or helpful to say that he is a poor candidate, doesn't care, etc.
The guy is very much in charge and - while Plouffe, Axe and Messina are awesome - it is his campaign, his convention and his ass on the line and they guy had done an amazing job in a tough situation.
So, everyone who is suddenly freaking out because of Pew and saying that "Obama needs to wake up" should back off. What is the evidence that Obama is a poor candidate, doesn't care, etc. Would his campaign be this successful if that was the case?
Yes, he f'ed up at the debate and, while it doesn't seem likely, that might do him in. But, look at Romney compared to our guy and think on it for a bit.
Do you still think he needs to wake up? Really? Have a little faith people in the guy's skill and his luck. And appreciate the quality, integrity and, yes, specialness of our candidate.
P.S. No, I am not an Obamaniac. I was a Hillary supporter and pissed as hell at his first two years of "bipartisanship" but I am a Democrat and can see that PBO is not John Kerry, Walter Mondale, Mike Dukakis or the Chicago Cubs. He is Bill Clinton. He is the Chicago Bulls. Have some faith people. Don't be front runners. C'mon now.
