With such a big national focus centering on Romney's surge in the polls in Michigan after the first debate, Nancy Skinner delivers her thoughts (in a YouTube spot below) on the "real debate" that Michiganders should consider. The debate was over whether the auto industry should be left to die, with unbearable consequence, or whether the new adminstration, led by President Barack Obama, believed in us. He did. He made a tough call against the polling data at the time. Romney said "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt". There was no private capital which would come to the restructuring table, not at that point in time. The President made a bold and courageous choice - to stand with the American Auto Industry. The loans are now repaid, the profits higher than ever, and today's headlines read: GM looking to fill high-tech jobs. Michigan and the country would have been devastated if a then President Romney had his way. This is the real debate in Michigan -and places like Ohio, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, where the auto industry touches everything from suppliers to dealers, commerical real estate, main street, and advertising. It's simple Michigan: Bin Laden is dead and GM is alive. The Real Debate in Michigan: Who saved Michigan- Mitt or President Obama?
