Cannabis is far more than just pot, weed or marijuana. Cannabis is an entire genus of plants including the non-psychoactive hemp varieties and it's a safe and effective medicinal herb. A recent study confirmed that the CBD cannabinoid in cannabis stops the spread of aggressive cancers in their tracks. Hemp is a valuable commodity crop that is actually four times more efficient in converting solar energy into usable biomass energy than any other crop. The federal prohibition against this valuable plant may be ending very soon.

Medical Marijuana Lawsuit Reviewing Scientific Evidence Reaches Federal Court for First Time in Nearly 20 Years
This hearing begins at 9:30am tomorrow October 16th.

If this court fairly considers all the facts it will likely issue a court order removing the cannabis plant from Nixon's Controlled Substances Act completely. After all, both synthetic and organic THC which is the primary psychoactive cannabinoid (drug?) extracted from cannabis, has already been rescheduled to Schedule III by the DEA so that Big Pharma can market their grossly overpriced and under effective Marinol and Sativex.

Sec. 1308.13 Schedule III.

Cannabis is not a drug, it's an entire genus of plants including hemp. The liberation of cannabis/hemp in America will completely reform our domestic productive economy. More than 25,000 products including advanced biofuels can be made better, stronger, liter, more durable and less expensive from hemp. Once our farmers are allowed to grow hemp as a normal rotation crop small local factories and cottage style industries will grow right alongside the hemp in the fields. Millions of green living wage jobs that cannot be outsource will be produced all across America. Cannabis will not only save our domestic economy from Wall Street domination, Cannabis will save the world.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
