From twitter, first CBS:

From PPP:
Obama's winning our post-debate snap poll in Colorado. We should have full results between 11:15 and 11:30

No idea about the sample from CBS.  In past years the snap polls were of everyone, not just undecided (which at this point means people are lying)

It is really important to note that media consensus often changes these results.  In 2000 and in 2004 the initial impression was changed in the next 48 hours.

Personally, I think the Libya exchange might have the same effect as the Kerry mention of Mary Cheney in 2004.  Romney got killed in the moment, and the impression I think will spread.

FWIW I thought Obama killed it tonight.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

  •  Local NBC station in Nashville polled a watch (6+ / 0-)

Party held at Lipscomb University for students.  This is a strong religious school, mostly church of Christ... Going in they polled all decided and undecided voters... Romney led going in pulling upper 50's while Obama polled low 40's... After the debate the numbers flipped with O in the upper 50's R in the low 40's.  Shocking to me knowing the student base at this school.

  •  I did not understand the Mary Cheney reaction (0+ / 0-)

Her mother, Lynne Cheney, was ashamed of her when Katie Couric asked her on The Today Show about her lesbian daughter.  Talk about a cold woman - Lynne Cheney.  Horrible response from mother Cheney.  The reality is that John Kerry has always supported policies that value the Mary Cheneys of the world and Mary's parents (and Mary's sister - positioning herself to run for Governor or U.S. Senate in Wyoming in a few years) have always supported the candidates, the court nominees and the policies that diminish their own daughter and sibling - and everyone at the Cheney dinner table knows that reality.

I was stunned at the effect.  I actually know people who were really bothered by it.

      •  It was blown up by the repubs (0+ / 0-)

it wasn't considered a big deal until they staged phony outrage over it. It really did kill Kerry, who had pretty much pulled into an electoral tie with Bush and should have won based on Bush's bin Laden's comments. But the media gave them what they wanted.

  •  I believe all CBS polls (0+ / 0-)

    are of undecided voters.

Online CNN response polls were super-favorable to Obama.
