PA's teaparty controlled legislature passed a law requiring photo ID with an expiration date that must be shown in order to vote. They passed this law to decrease the number of poor, older and young - especially student-voters , who are traditionally Democratic voters, and to steal the election for the republicans. Recent;y, a PA State Judge halted this requirement till after the November election, saying there was not enough time for people to actually get required documentation before the election, and the state was to comply with this ruling. However, many ads on TV and elsewhere are still stating that photo ID is REQUIRED for this election, and I just found this statement on ,y Township's web page when I was looking for a phone number to report a burned out street light...

Note in the orange type, about mid page...PHOTO ID REQUIRED TO VOTE IN THE NOVEMBER ELECTION...a few lines down, in smaller print, it states the ID is NOT required but that you will be asked for it.
Seems the GOP does not believe the law applies to itself...although that's not much of a revelation, is it...
FWIW, I will be calling the Supervisor's office to yell about this when they open later this morning.
