After getting a glimpse at Steven Singler's Wrap Up Diary, I decided to focus on the race in Florida's 18th District between Tea Party extremist, Allen West (R) and his progressive opponent, Patrick Murphy (D).  PPP's poll that they did for the local news channel, shows West leading Murphy by 9 points.  PPP surveyed 500 likely voters in one day.  Normally PPP takes three days to poll a race but they admit they've had mixed results with polling in terms of congressional races.  Just look at how off their polling was in the Democratic primary between Occupy activist, Ilya Sheyman and Brad Schneider in Illinois’ 10th district.  In fact, PPP even admitted the polling in that particular race was their biggest blunder:

Now they have been doing congressional races for the LVC but I doubt they are doing them in a day.  Presidential, Governor and Senate races are different stories.  But whether or not you trust PPP's poll or not, it sure as hell made me donate $20 to Murphy's campaign.  I want us to take the House.  We will keep control of the Senate and we will get President Obama re-elected but more than anything, I want to put the gavel back in Pelsoi's hand and I want to kick the American Taliban out of the House.  The Tea Party has done nothing but cause this country to become more divided and nearly pushed our economy off the cliff all for the sake of preserving tax breaks for the rich.  These people are fucking crazy and Allen West is the cream of the crop.  West is nothing but an aggressive bully and a disgusting liar.  He's put himself in the limelight and the world has witnessed his insanity and the worst part is West is actually proud to be a crazy teabagger.  He relishes it and he will do and say anything to piss off liberals and Democrats.  He also will whore himself out to the likes of the Koch Brothers and their unlimited campaign contributions as they fill the airwaves with false ads attacking a great public servant like Patrick Murphy.  In fact here, some great info about Murphy from his website:

http://patrickmurphy2012.com/...

Patrick Murphy currently serves as Vice President of Coastal Environmental Services, which specializes in disaster relief and environmental cleanup. In 2010, Patrick spent six months in the Gulf of Mexico leading the company's efforts to remove oil spilled during the BP disaster. Coastal Environmental is an affiliate of Coastal Construction, one of the leading construction firms in the country, and has been named one of the nation’s top “Green Contractors".

Patrick was born and raised on the Florida Coast. He spent much of his early life on construction sites and worked as a day laborer while going to college. After earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami in accounting and finance, Patrick joined the respected accounting firm of Deloitte and Touche as a CPA, where he served as an external auditor of Fortune 500 companies. Patrick is also the Co-Chair of Coastal Cares, which guides the firm's philanthropic work for local and regional charities including the Boys & Girls Club, United Way, Camillus House, and Education Fund/Teach-A-Thon.

Lord knows we could use more environmentalists in congress who stand up up to oil giants like BP.  Just look at this bull shit ad West put out about Murphy:

Murphy was 19 when this happened and admitted this was a mistake.  You can read the whole story here:

It's these types of disgusting attack ads that are trying to prevent good guys like Murphy from getting elected to congress.  Guys like West, Michele Bachmann, Paul Ryan, Sean Duffy, Joe Walsh, Mike Fitzpatrick, Virginia Foxx and Steven King have to go for the sake of this country's sanity.  It truly is sad that our elected officials have reached this intense level of ignorance, bigotry and stupidity.  It's frightening.  But it's not too late.  We have a serious opportunity to stop the decline of our government.  We can't allow corporations to spend unlimited amount of money recruiting religious fanatics and angry morons to become elected officials and do their biding.  Allen West is bought and paid for b no other than Charles and David Koch, the billionaire oil funders of the Tea Party movement.  They have spent endless amount of dollars on this race by smearing Patrick Murphy's good name.  The Kochs really can't defend West's record because it's become so ridiculously easy to call out West on his blatant lies.  West has no real reason to be in the House of Representatives.  Here's a taste of the craziness that is Allen West:

Seriously, this guy has to go.  He's fucking nuts, plain and simple.  Murphy will be debating West tonight so if you live in the 18th district, be sure to tune in.  Details here:

Lets help give Murphy the momentum and money to fight back against these false attack ads.  A Murphy win puts the gavel back in Pelosi's hand.  Donate to his ActBlue page:

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
