Good morning!
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
Well it's morning anyway. Not sure about the good. Woke up this morning to the Satellite being turned off. I was expecting that. We still owe almost $200 on the electric this month, no money to pay the Satellite bill. Hopefully the electric company is willing to wait until November 2 when FloridaSNDad's new SSI payments start. We just got a letter the other day that October's payment will be here on November 2, and then we can expect his payments to get here on or around the 3rd of the month thereafter. I'm not sure if that means we're getting October's on November 2 and then November's on November 3rd, or if October's counts as November's as well. What the heck is the purpose of delaying the first month's payment anyway? Are you supposed to magically be able to live without money for a month?
Caedy's check this week was only about $100 and a lot of that went into bus passes, dog food, cat food and other necessities. She has I believe just under $20 of it left. Add in the $6 'convenience charge' to pay our electric bill and it's really not worth putting any on it this week. Good thing we still had $55 on the food stamps. I'm still not sure how much those are going to get cut either. Caedy is faxing her paystubs over to them today, then we should be able to get a number. I have no doubt it's going to be coming down, because, you know, why should we be able to actually get to where we aren't delaying paying Peter so we can pay Paul, or even have a month or two grace so we can get things caught up and handle Christmas.
Anyway, how is everyone else out there in IAN land today? Hopefully better than us!
