I'm not going to pretend this has any significance. I've had nothing but this election on my mind lately, and I haven't posted a music vid on this site in years.
Sometimes people ask why we put the drummer behind a plexiglass shield.
1. We have played rock and roll for decades, and still have our hearing. This is due to keeping a manageable stage volume. The guitar amp is on about "2." You can actually have a conversation on our stage, during a song.
2. We like to sing on key, so being able to hear ourselves through simple wedge monitors is fantastic for us.
3. We use vocal effects such as reverb and delay, and when drums leak into vocal mics, they sound weird. Nobody wants to hear an echo when a drummer hits a snare. It muddies the mix, and makes for bad sound.
4. Even with vocal effects and stage volume aside, nothing contributes to high end feedback more than cymbal crashes bleeding into vocal mics. Dirty Lixx, (and any band I've played in) has NO feedback. NONE! We do NOT approve of squealing sounds coming out of big fucking speakers, and making the audience deaf.
And I have hundreds of joke answers to that question, as we get asked it constantly.
He's in the witness protection program. That glass is bulletproof
He's no more dangerous than most drummers
We really don't like him
It's mostly his refusal to shower
His bass drum is radioactive, and he's the only one in the band with lead underwear
If any of you think of any more, I'm always taking them.
