A great day for all those thousands of Democratic canvassers who are going out to knock on doors today.
17 days before the election, during the great Democratic Flood of 2008, 295,523 voters had voted in NC.
As of yesterday that number was 387,724 an increase of 92,201 voters cycle to cycle.
At the end of the FIRST day of early voting the totals for both absentee and early voting were:
47% Democratic and 34% Republican.
It went from 6% African American to 27% African American.
Yesterday there were:
105,659 Democratic
77,677 Republican
40,000 Other
voters.
SECOND DAY
At the end of the Second day of early voting the totals for both absentee and early voting were:
49% Democratic and 32% Republican.
28.83% African American**.
Today the numbers are:
191,417 Democratic
125,350 Republican
70,957 Other

**An interesting note: There are fewer Republican African-Americans in 2012 than there were in 2008.
