AntKat's quilt
We made a community quilt for AntKat because she is suffering several cancers. She lost her larynx this May and had recently started some palliative chemo to help her be able to swallow and eat. All in all, the last year has been a hard one for AntKat, one filled with more nights in hospital beds than in her own. We finished AntKat's quilt Thursday night and were excited to be able to ship it Friday. Yesterday, I emailed AntKat for her address and she replied with this heartbreaking news:
I was readmitted to the hospital last night and it's doubtful I'll be going back home. Most probably I will be going to a local hospice facility. I am no longer able to eat or drink anything and even though my first chemo treatment was affecting the tumors the other complications cancel that out. I will email NUrse Kelly when I can. Right now I'm on so much pain medication, I can hardly stay awake.
You have undying gratitude,
AntKat
We overnighted the quilt to AntKat yesterday so that she would have it today -- but unfortunately, the mailman did not leave the box even though I had signed a waiver so that it could be left at her door. Monday is the day that AntKat will have her quilt.

Whether you have a message on the quilt or not, please send your love to AntKat in the comments below. While she waits for her quilt she can read your words here -- it will be an enormous support to her.

AntKat would like to write a diary soon about her recent experiences but doesn't know if she'll have the strength. I hope she will. But in the meantime, everybody who participated in this quilt, please know how much it means to AntKat. Thank you so much for giving her this gift. May the love come back to you a hundred fold.
Namaste.
