Quick diary because I must be off to Sunday events in Comal County.

1st: 2-4P gathering for Dems at Eagles Hall in New Braunfels. This is for Kathleen Krueger who is running for County Commissioner. The Castro brothers will be there, I'm told. Yes! that would be Julián and Joaquín!

Next is blockwalking, our last time out. Early voting starts TOMORROW.

I will probably be a pollwatcher for the John Courage campaign (running for Texas Senator from D.25 against Teabagger, Donna Campbell.)

Yesterday was an historic event. About 50 of us Dems gathered for training for duty as voting place judges, clerks, and pollwatchers. Long time residents said they have never seen anything like this! The Republicans have had it all their own way in Comal County for far too long. Too late to reach parity in poll duty for this election, but for sure by 2014.

Here's an email that I got a few days ago:

Dear Democrats in Comal County,

Important info from DoCC.  But the most important thing is to take [RB] and [KB]'s phone numbers in with you when you vote!!   And if you see any sign of intimidation, please don't hesitate to call either one of them.  The Republicans know that we're on to their scare tactics and we're going to stop them.

Names redacted because I didn't have time to get permissions to use. But the message is clear, we've had enuf of Republican intimidation tactics and we're not gonna take it anymore.

Will try to write more tomorrow. Gotta run.

Yours for a damn fine fight!
(to quote Mother Jones),

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
