People reading this live in a world where we have delicate electronic screens to clean. Sometimes lots of screens.

I don't have very many, but I hate spending money on simple formulas I can make easily and very, very cheaply. Screen cleaner is one of those things.
Here’s what you need:
Isopropyl alcohol
Distilled water
That's it. In equal quantities. And you don’t even really have to measure. Just half and half. Easy peasy.
But if you want to measure, because you're unsure, or not quite ready to believe it is that easy, you could mix let’s say, oh … 1/4 c. distilled water and 1/4 c. isopropyl alcohol (at least 70%). Isopropyl alcohol is also known as rubbing alcohol. Don't use the green rubbing alcohol. Use the clear kind.
That's it. Really.
Pour them both into a spray bottle. And here’s a cool thing I learned. I had a bottle of rubbing alcohol that was 1/4 full, so I filled it halfway with distilled water and then reached under my sink for one of the many wayward spray bottle tops I keep around…
And it fit! Perfectly!
First, you might be asking yourself, “Can’t I just use Windex to clean my screens?” And the answer is "No."
Not if you want streak-free, healthy screens. Windex contains chemicals that are harsh for delicate LCD/plasma screens, and other cleaners leave behind residue on those screens.
So the first tip is:
When in doubt, use as few “ingredients” on your screen as possible. In fact, you may find that just dampening a clean rag with distilled water is enough.
.
Second tip:
Don’t use paper towels to wipe your screens (or any delicate glass like glasses lenses, etc.). Paper towels are scratchy, and they’ll leave behind little nicks in your screen if you’re not very careful. Only use very soft old cloths (like a soft, worn T-shirt or cotton flannel) or microfiber cloths.
For as much as I enjoy reusing old things instead of buying new things, though, I have to admit that the microfiber cloth did a much better job at cleaning our LCD TV screen without a hint of streaks. It’s a very soft microfiber that’s made specifically for delicate surfaces. It's available in hthe cleaning aisle of most grocery stores.
Third tip:
Whatever cloth you DO use, though, do not use any fabric softener in the wash or dryer with it. Fabric softener will leave behind oils and other gunk that’ll leave your screens streaky and worse off than they were before.
Fourth tip:
Never spray directly on a screen or other electronic device. Why? Because you’ll end up with water dripping into places where it does not belong. Like your hard drive. Or the corners of your TV screen. Or your dog. Always spray on the cloth first and then wipe. No drips. No fried electronics. No jinky dog.
Fifth tip:
Only use distilled water for screen cleaning recipes – never use tap or “regular” bottled water or "spring " water. Tap and bottled water contains all sorts of minerals and other chemicals that will leave behind deposits and gunk on your screen. Even filtered water doesn’t remove all the heavy metals and minerals you want to avoid. Distilled water has everything but water removed from it - it is flat and tasteless and dull not not pleasant to drink, but a delight in irons and screen cleaning recipes.
You can use this spray combination for all kinds of things:
Plasma and LCD screens (of course).
Eye glasses
Windows/mirrors
iPad and tablet screens
Smart phone screens (and bodies)
Have a clean, streak-free, clear and visible electronic life.
EDITED TO ADD:
shanikka has posted the first of this year's GOTV Blogathon diaries! This series will focus on GOTV activities nationwide and will feature some PHENOMENAL Guest Bloggers!
Patriot Daily News Clearinghouse has already written two diaries describing the undertaking, and Top Comments has agreed to post a schedule, each night, once the Blogathon gets fully underway, beginning tomorrow! PDNC's first diary posted links for the Blogathon, and the second diary gave a sneak peek into SOME of the Guests who will participate! This is a stunning series, hopefully the prelude to a fantastic Democratic series of victories on Nov. 6!
There are two diary tags you can add to your stream to have the Blogathon appear in your stream.

I found the thoughts in this comment by mdmslle worthy of wide notice. The comment is in a diary by coolelegans who regretted reading attacks on a previous diarist. Here's the summation from mdmslle: "I reserve that outrage for willful bigots. But ignorant, educable people....no. There's only one way to discover if someone is educable. Try to educate them." I expect we could all benefit from this advice.
