Scott Brown is hoping voters will think of the truck and not the record of the guy driving it.
There's no way Scott Brown wants to have another week like the one he had last week. But when you're the kind of guy who
accuses family members of asbestos victims of being paid actors appearing in your opponent's ads, then
blames your opponent for the fact that you stepped in it and insulted those people,
all the while using a supporter in your own ads who called Elizabeth Warren a "douchebag" and President Barack Obama a "Muslim," it's hard
not to look like an asshole when you're under pressure. So this week,
Brown is ducking reporters:
WBUR reports:
Sen. Scott Brown has so far declined multiple requests for an interview with WBUR.
[WBUR, 10/23/12, "Warren Vows Independence If Elected To U.S. Senate"]
The Berkshire Eagle reports:
Brown has been invited to a similar discussion at The Eagle, but has not responded.
[The Berkshire Eagle, 10/23/12, "Warren depicts sharp contrasts with Brown, GOP"]
The North Adams Transcript reports:
Brown has been invited to meet with local media at The Berkshire Eagle offices, but has yet to reply.
[The North Adams Transcript, 10/23/12, "Elizabeth Warren stops by to talk 'big vision' with local media outlets"]
This is actually reminiscent of how Brown campaigned in the final days before his special election win in January 2010, when, after having flown under the radar through much of the campaign, he just
shut his mouth and coasted on his supposed regular-guy affability. But this time around, we know who Scott Brown is. He has a record and he has a strong opponent and, lately, he has gaffe after gaffe. If he's not willing, or too afraid, to talk about his record, Elizabeth Warren will.
Please give $3 to Elizabeth Warren.
