Armstrong Cable is a small regional cable provider in Pennsylvania and Ohio. They have made the unfortunate decision to air Dinesh D'Souza's "documentary," Obama's America: 2016, this month on their On Demand movie system.
Ordinarily, I wouldn't care, wouldn't think twice about it--free speech and all that. But the problem is that they have chosen to make this an offering to their subscribers FOR FREE. More below the squiggle...
Two things to know:
1. The Chairman of the Board of Armstrong made the maximum donation to Romney's campaign, details HERE. Again, it's a free country--donate to whomever you want--but the circumstance of Armstrong offering that film for free during election season, combined with that donation, screams "conflict of interest" to me.
2. Armstrong Cable's program offerings and quality of service generally suck. They have humans answering the phones, but that's about all I can say about the company that is positive. I still have their internet service, much to my chagrin, but we gave up their cable service for a dish provider a few months ago, and have never been happier. Armstrong doesn't offer CSPAN2, for example, and I have it now. They also don't offer BET in our area, and I have that now, too.
So, if you are an Armstrong Cable subscriber, I suggest you give it up for a dish provider. I have DirecTV, and I love it. I now get more channels for less cost up front...the costs will increase later, but I haven't seen DirecTV try to sway this election with a free showing of disgusting lies, so it's a total win-win.
