John McCain went on Brian Kilmeade's radio show this morning to shake his angry fist like he was yelling at a squirrel to get off his damned lawn.
General Powell, you disappoint us and you have harmed your legacy even further by defending what is clearly the most feckless foreign policy in my lifetime.
You know, that really takes some head-up-the-butt chutzpah. Here is a guy who lived through two terms of the most feckless president to ever sit in the Oval Office. A president who failed to take the warnings of an imminent attack by Al-Qaeda seriously. A president who then used that attack to lie us into an unnecessary war in Iraq. A war in which 4,487 soldiers lost their lives and another 32,223 were seriously wounded. A war which distracted our military from the first war he started in Afghanistan. This is the very same president who John McCain knew better to discuss during his run for office in 2008 lest he be linked and mired in the failed foreign policy legacy of George W. Bush.
Senator, nothing about General Powell's endorsement of President Obama will harm his legacy as much as you just harmed your own. You have been on the path of irrelevancy for a long time now. Congratulations, you have just fallen to the level of irrelevancy of your Vice Presidential choice. Senator, get off our lawn.
