Project New America systematically includes cell phones and online -- their new polls show Obama ahead in FL CO.

“We’re about trying to get it right,” PNA’s Jill Hanauer told FOX31 Denver. “Polling is going to change so much over the next four years because of cell phones. Pollsters are going to have to make sure there’s a mix of cell phones, we do texting now to get interviews, we do lots of online interviews now.

“While we are a Democrat-oriented firm, but we’re not agenda-driven. We want to get it right.”

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

I think one thing both republicans and democrats could agree on at this point...can we move to have all this wishy washy voters shipped to Tahiti

    "online" and "poll" is garbage.

There are a bunch of other good polls today, so if you want a more accurate picture of what's going on, than see those.

BTW, it's "Democratic-leaning", not "Democrat-leaning".  That was a Frank Luntz invention to make the party seem less appealing.

    •  What a uninformed thing to say. At least read (0+ / 0-)

      ..the poll.

If you did, nowhere does it say that the results include online participants, cell yes, online, no.

As for them being Democratic-leaning, their sample in Florida 40/40 Republican/Democratic.Nothing much in the samples to indicate they put their thumb on the scales for the Dems. In Colorado, 33/34 Republican/Democratic. Both samples mirror each state's party registration.

If they are simply doing follow up interviews with participants for other reasons, then I see no problem. I think it is incumbent upon critics to demonstrate that a particular poll is unreliable based on the information provided. This isn't Zogby and we should at least read the poll.

than going into november 6th thinking we will win, but only by a squeak.  and then finding out that obama hit it out of the park again. so i'm loving these margins.

obama is a superior president and a superior candidate and he deserves the widest possible margin we can deliver.
