Here are the latest figures out of Nevada.

For these daily reports, I will only be tracking Clark County and Washoe County.  Together, they account for just shy of 90% of all registered voters in Nevada.

Quick non-sequitir:  Has anyone been to Tahoe?  I find the Tahoe area to be one of the most beautiful areas of the country.  And if you don't believe me, go rent the movie "The Deep End" which showcases Tahoe in all its glory.

First let's start with the numbers from Clark County:

Here are the cumulative early voting figures:

Dems 91,629 (50.45%)
Reps 57,395 (31.61%)
Inds 32,538 (17.92%)

TOTAL 181,562

Here are the additional early ballots cast since the last daily report:

Dems +14,969
Reps +9,434
Inds +5,866

In the previous daily report, Democrats bested Republicans by 5,202 ballots cast.  In this one, Democrats outstripped Republicans by 5,535.  In fact, the Republican percentage went down among early voters since the previous report.  These are very solid numbers for us in Clark County, especially considering that Romney is contesting Nevada much more vigorously than McCain did four years ago.

Now, here are the cumulative figures, including mail-in ballots:

Dems 105,338 (49.75%)
Reps 69,294 (32.73%)
Inds 37,107 (17.52%)

TOTAL 211,739

As of this report, 24.86% of the 851,803 active voters in Clark County have voted.  That is huge.  At this point in 2008, about 17% of all active voters had voted.

Now, let's take a look at Washoe County.

Here are the cumulative early voting numbers:

Dems 20,224
Reps 19,205
Inds 7,752

TOTAL 47,181

Here are the new early votes since the last report:
Dems +3,432
Reps +3,396

Republicans had bested us the previous three days, so this is welcome news.

Here are the cumulative figures, including mail-in ballots:

Dems 24,298
Reps 23,458
Inds 9,407

TOTAL 57,163

As of now, this constitutes 23.7% of the 241,459 active voters in Washoe County.  At this point in 2008, only 15% of the active voters had voted.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
