Harkening back to 2000 when W. Bush falsely promised he'd work as a bi-partisan President, Mr. Romney now claims he will be bipartisan.
Perhaps he can start by moderating his own positions. As one, in 2006, Romney signed Grover Norquist’s lemon pledge, refusing to ever raise taxes.
Until such time as Romney repudiates that pledge, in writing, Romney can never honestly call on anyone else to moderate their positions. After all, Romney has sworn in writing not to moderate his own positions. http://www.atr.org/...
It seems to me that the people of Massachusetts learned first hand the worth of Mr. Romney’s promises. He ran as a moderate Republican, promising to protect a woman’s right to choose http://andrewsullivan.thedailybeast.com/... and to protect minority and gay rights. http://andrewsullivan.thedailybeast.com/... Romney decided he would work to break those promises immediately upon entering office. He left the MA Governor’s office with a 34% approval rating. http://veracitystew.com/...
Unfortunate too many voters lack the time to evaluate Mr. Romney’s promises as measured against his actions.
For Republican voters, to be sure, Romney's constant lying is viewed as a definite plus. Perhaps that is why they are now supporting him with such fury.
