Per TPM, Scott Brown simply cannot reschedule his fourth debate with Elizabeth Warren because... well, Sandy! Bus tour! And she ducked out first, anyway:
"It is unfortunate that nature intervened in a way we all agreed made it inappropriate to carry on with the scheduled debate," communications director Colin Reed said in a press release. "With only days remaining in the campaign, and with a long-planned bus tour kicking off Thursday through Election Day that will take Scott Brown to every corner of the Commonwealth, our calendar simply cannot accommodate a rescheduling of this fourth debate and the planning and preparation that would go into it. Senator Brown is pleased to have participated in three major televised debates, and regrets that Professor Warren refused two additional earlier debate opportunities that he accepted."
Of course, one of those two debates Warren "refused" was going to be held in friendly territory for Brown -- i.e. the radio show hosted by WBZ conservative talker
Dan Rea. We can't have a debate someplace where the hosts are obviously biased... which was the reason why Brown opted out of another debate because
his demands weren't met.
"We respect Vicki Kennedy's decision but we regret that we cannot accept a debate invitation from someone who plans to endorse Scott Brown's opponent," Barnett said, also describing the event as a "partisan Kennedy debate."
"The Kennedy Institute cannot hold itself out as a nonpartisan debate sponsor while the president of its board of trustees gets involved in the race on behalf of one of the candidates."
Riiiiiiight.
Enjoy your bus tour, Sen. Brown. It'll probably be your last.
