Yesterday, he was all about keeping Mitt Romney the hell away and praising President Barack Obama. On Fox, he practically spit on the hosts when they asked when Romney would join Christie to tour hurricane damage:
I have no idea, nor am I the least bit concerned or interested. I have a job to do in New Jersey that is much bigger than presidential politics. I could care less about any of that stuff… If you think right now I give a damn about presidential politics, then you don’t know me.And on NBC Today:
The President has been outstanding in this and so have the folks at FEMA.Today, he was all about loving Obama as the two toured damage together.
“He has worked incredibly closely with me since before the storm hit,” Mr. Christie said, with Mr. Obama standing just behind him. “It’s been a great working relationship.” [...]They couldn't have been too happy about that at Romney HQ. Or in the wingnutosphere.
Meanwhile, Day 2 convention keynoter Condoleeza Rice put a damper on the GOP's conspiracy du jour, on Fox, no less:
Former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice defended the Obama Administration’s handling of the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, departing from the many conservatives who have accused the White House of mishandling its response to the attack, or worse, covering up its incompetence.Republicans are convinced that their Benghazi conspiracy theories are the key to the White House. Fox News expected Rice to play along.
“When things are unfolding very, very quickly, it’s not always easy to know what is really going on on the ground,” Rice told Fox News host Greta Van Susteren.
So who will be next? Ann Romney? Clint Eastwood?
Or maybe that guy who whined about the lack of stimulus government contracts for his road sign business, because, you know, he had built that.
