The Atlantic Wire points out some of those who just cannot bring themselves to believe the good BLS numbers on unemployment, and think it must be some grand conspiracy made up by Obama or something. This includes those over at Zero Hedge.
Not content with just
whining about the numbers on their site, they then go and post
this conspiracy crap.
Here's a peculiar statistical aberration:
- Household Survey people employed: +873,000 (source)
- Part-time jobs for economic reasons: +582,000 (source)
-> 582,000 divided by 873,000 = 0.666666666666*
Aka: precisely two thirds. Whatever are the odds... Goalseeking much Arima-X-12?
And the comments section... oh, the comments section. That sent the commenters into a tizzy about Obama being the devil and whatnot. It has multiple posters with the "Obama as Joker" avatar and someone else talking about watering the tree of liberty with blood. Lovely. And another notes that Jack Welch's four kids all support Ron Paul, who the commenter suggests "woke up" Welch.
Yep, the site has now become a bunch of Ron Paul sycophants.
So you know what? The next time I see a diary on the Rec list that links to Zero Hedge approvingly for their take on economic issues, I'm going to call them out on their bullshit. Ron Paul's economic viewpoint is fucking insane. And you wanna bring that bullshit onto DailyKos? No, no, no, my friend.
Let's remember what one of them said about Paul Krugman.
Whether this is written by Krugman or not, that fetid pile of human waste should be dragged out into the streets of NYC and gang-raped by one hundred desperate sex offenders who have been cooped up in solitary for a year. Perhaps the damage done to Krugman’s anus will stimulate a plastic surgery reconstruction mini-boom. He might want to have those man-tits lipoed at the same time.
If you still think after today that Zero Hedge is a reputable source for economic analysis, you are no progressive. You are a Ron Paul gold standard austerity-loving lunatic.
