President Obama, after overseeing the government's response to Hurricane Sandy, is set to return to the campaign trail tomorrow.
Here is President Obama's campaign schedule:
Thursday:
Green Bay, WI
Las Vegas, NV
Boulder, CO
Friday:
A three-stop barnstormer in Ohio. Again, all day in Ohio.
(I wasn't able to find out specifically where he will be)
Saturday:
Mentor, OH
Milwaukee, WI
Dubuque, IA
Bristow, VA
Sunday:
Concord, NH
Fort Lauderdale, FL
Aurora, CO
Cincinatti, OH
That is a blistering pace and the schedule tells us a few things.
First, Wisconsin is probably quite close in their internal poll. So he's rallying the base (Milwaukee) and playing to the middle (Green Bay). I don't see Obama losing Wisconsin, but it's good to firm up a light blue state.
Second, the western states - Nevada and Colorado - are still very important to the campaign
Third - Ohio, Ohio, Ohio
Fourth, it doesn't seem like Obama will put a huge amount of time in Florida. Does this mean we are losing there? Not necessarily, but the fact that he's spending a ton of time in Ohio and not much time in Florida should tell us something.
Fifth, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Michigan are not swing states for this election. Will they be closer than in 2008? Yes, they will. But Obama will carry each of them reasonably comfortably on election day. And that is a very reassuring thought.
Sixth, our President has an endless amount of energy. Right?
