I will not praise this person on every issue. I don't want this to turn into a diary that points out all the issues on which we disagree with Christie. But I have to say, his move tonight to help secure the vote in New Jersey is the right move not just for his state, but it's putting the needs of his constituents above his politics, and I have to commend him for it.
From a Comment, and I love this quote:
In recent days, Gov. Chris Christie — reluctant to politicize the disaster — refused to address the state’s contingency plans for Election Day.
"In moments like this there are not Democratic or Republican neighborhoods," Christie said at the news conference in Moonachiwe, where he was accompanied by Guadagno. "They are New Jerseyans."

Everyone, of both parties, has really come together to prove a ton of options.. and that's a damn good thing.
With the potential for real confusion as voting facilities potentially find themselves without power, people unsure of where to vote, Christie made a move tonight that all I can say is: it's the right move.

MOONACHIE, N.J. — New Jersey state officials say they are extending the deadline for mail-in ballots and will deploy military trucks to serve as polling places on Election Day in storm-battered communities.
In the most battered areas, the National Guard will deploy military covered vehicles and paper ballots to make sure people can vote.
In other places, the mail in ballot count is extended to let people vote up to Tuesday with mail in and extra runs allowed.
There are a lot of issues on which I have disagreed with Christie. But for all my disagreement, he is also a rare bird in the fact that I have always thought that he at least believes what he's saying, rather then the typical craven move of "say whatever/back whatever".
And for all my disagreements, his handling of Sandy has, in my mind, been commendable, and his moves tonight to help secure the rights of people to vote at least show that there is at least a call to "do the right thing".
