Here are the latest figures out of Nevada. All I have to say is Woo Hoo!
For these reports, I will only be tracking Clark County and Washoe County. Together, they account for just shy of 90% of all registered voters in Nevada.
First let's start with the numbers from Clark County:
Here are the cumulative early voting figures:
Dems 210,431 (48.19%)
Reps 140,727 (32.23%)
Inds 85,473 (19.58%)
TOTAL 436,631 48,175
Here are the additional early ballots cast since the last daily report:
Dems +23,388
Reps +13,757
Inds +11,030
HOLY SHIT! We freaking kicked ass today! Four reports ago, Republicans were behind Democrats only 1,618 in the early vote count. Three reports ago, we led Republicans by about 3,000 ballots. Two reports ago, we led by over 4,000. And in yesterday's report, we led by over 5,700 ballots. But in today's report? We led by 9,631 ballots!!! The Democratic percentage among early ballots cast actually increased and the Republican percentage dropped almost half a percentage point. That is welcome news! And over 50,000 votes were cast if you include the mail-in ballots on this, the last day of early voting in Clark County for 2012!
Now, here are the cumulative figures, including mail-in ballots:
Dems 230,630 (47.70%)
Reps 159,960 (33.08%)
Inds 92,904 (19.22%)
TOTAL 483,494
The percentage of Democrats who voted early or by absentee ballot ticked up a bit overall, and the Republican percentage dropped. As of this report, 56.76% of the 851,803 active voters in Clark County have voted. According to the Nevada sos site, there were 391,785 early voters in Clark County by the end of the early voting period in 2008. I don't know if that includes the mail-in absentee ballots or not. Even if it doesn't, we're still running ahead because 436,631 people voted early in person for 2012 in Clark County.
As I stated before, our registration advantage among active voters in Clark County is roughly 46% to 31% and the cumulative figures are close to those proportions thus far. We hit a home run in Clark County today.
Now, let's take a look at Washoe County.
Here are the cumulative early voting numbers:
Dems 45,043 (41.31%)
Reps 44,402 (40.37%)
Inds 21,745 (18.32%)
TOTAL 111,190
Here are the new early votes since the last report:
Dems +5,343
Reps +5,348
Turnout was big today and the Republicans edged us by five votes. I can accept that.
Here are the cumulative figures, including mail-in ballots:
Dems 51,434
Reps 51,885
Inds 24,663
TOTAL 127,982
We are still pulling pretty much even with Republicans in Washoe in getting out the vote for our side. And it was a robust voting day in general.
As of now, this constitutes 53.00% of the 241,459 active voters in Washoe County.
I know I said I would do a statewide rundown of the numbers, but I will have to do it tomorrow as I am falling asleep at my keyboard.
We are going to win Nevada.
