Now remember, the above rant was written almost three months after Katrina. Y'all still have some time to get really pissed off. Trust me, we(New Orleans, Gulf Coast) understand what you are going thru now. We knew it all to well. But you know what? I think times have changed since Katrina. I was reading a diary by gmoke titled Occupy Sandy and was introduced to recovers.org. What an incredible tool! I wish it existed when Katrina had happened. If you haven't heard anything about it here's a great video introduction;
Now, i do think everyone who is going thru the aftermath of Sandy will experience much of the same frustrations, depressions, tears, joys, moments of triumphs, more frustrations as we did in New Orleans. But I just hope now that the tools for recovery are better today than they were seven years ago. I hope your recovery is quicker than ours was. And no matter what people say....you have to rebuild your lives! We can all help. Good luck and godspeed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
