My kid is working on her PhD in Texas. She called me tonight and told me that she just discovered that she's been taken off of the voter rolls. The rule is that a voter can be removed from the voter rolls if they haven't voted in two consecutive federal elections. My kid voted for Obama in 2008, but just discovered that she'd been removed from the voter rolls in 2011, to her knowledge.
My kid was purged from the voter rolls! I suggested that she ask for a provisional ballot on Tuesday, since it appears she was removed for no legal reason. I hope she can work this out, because this is just wrong!
