I know most of you feel the same way I am feeling right now. My fiancee is in our bedroom unable to sleep because the anxiety is getting to her. No matter how often we check the polls we cannot know for certain what will happen tomorrow.
We Democrats have developed our own political version of PTSD. The Bush Administration, the Reagan Administration, The Nixon Administration... need I say more. We fear. Yet, unlike our opponents, we fear because we love. Love must always be stronger than hate. We care for people. We fear that bad things will happen if we lose. We know that bad things have happened when we lost: war, poverty, intolerance, despair. Are we not good people for wanting an end to war, poverty, intolerance, despair?
But we are often so blinded by fear that we miss when we have brought people to our side. This is one of those times. We are going to win this thing! We still need to GOTV, of course. But people have moved and they will vote when prodded. I saw it when canvassing this weekend. People were sincere and they cared. They want to vote for Obama and Democrats. They just need encouragement.
GOTV!
I know I have been absent from this site for awhile. I feel like a child who never writes his Mom. My actual Mom died recently... cancer. Cancer ate the best of her before it let her rest. What a horrid disease.
My lovely fiancee made me laugh with this video tonight. I thus bring you a lighter moment:
