I kept telling y'all that our blue vote (NoVa) comes in late. Now it has.

Every election here looks like a R blowout until the last ten minutes. Virginia countryside is deeply red. All of us in the DC area have quite a different opinion.

My 270towin map had us winning every swing state but NC. Too bad, so sad for me Kos wasn't giving away the iPad this time. Oh well, glad to be right!

O-bama! O-bama!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

I was personally canvassed several tines, by phone and in person. I was contacted today both by phone and in person to ensure my vote and my (fornerly R) husband's vote.

I think the Obama campaign has precincts down to a science! They knew their margins in every state. I truly hope David Plouffe lends his genius to whomever runs in 2016, Obama has the best numbers guys in the business and they won him another lose-able election.

I would be literally spitting nails as a Republican. Good thing all the smart guys are with us!

and I knew it was, cause I lived for almost 20 years in the DC area, I knew NOVA would pull through. Actually of all the places I've lived (Louisiana, Kansas, Texas, Illinois, Virginia/Maryland/DC). My friends were hyper about the election today.

basically everyone else I know does. State Dept. Dept. of Interior, etc. My child's playmates are the kids of government workers.

I knew Obama would take Virginia all along.

Wow, do the Republicans have a demographics problem. Can't wait to see if they stick to their Southern State strategy or try to evolve.

and gape at the real estate prices. Yowza! That said, houses on my Reston street have started to sell for good money. We bought the worst house (fixer-upper) on the best street we could afford.

Now that Metro is almost completely built a few blocks away, prices should be interesting.

(not that you would have wanted to attend) to the most out of control parties in Middleburg.

Happy to hear that the Metro line is almost done. Not lived there in 10 years. For most years I was there I worked in Tyson Corner or Reston. Never made sense to me why when I lived within two blocks of Union Station in DC I couldn't take a Metro line to Reston.

I would think it would do a ton to the value of your home!
