Its not the Obama and Senatorial victories that has consumed me. Its the reaction that is so dispocable and I have found a way to give them all a coronary

I wish to renounce my race (white) and declare myself a "person of color" In spite of my pigementation or lack of it, as I watch the folks on Fox-5 or Limbaugh or read Red State, (I can only stomach) I realize there must be some mistake
I will no longer check "white" on any application or personel from that requries you indicate "race"
I was discussin with with the personel director (who is African American) and his response was "When you get stopped at the Through DWB (driving while black) call me and we can discuss it
Still every caucasian who voted for Obama should reevaluate their racial status.
We are all people of color now.

Would appreciate Black Kos comments

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

    •  TED has many great talks on this topic (0+ / 0-)

One of my favorite 'talks' shows us how the ancients walk with us still, inside of us and how our DNA spread around the world. The talk linked below proves to me that we've always been horny little buggers grin.
The human migration out of Africa is fact.
Though I personally think calling ourselves Homo Sapien Sapien (doublely wise) is sheer folly asking for a cosmic smackdown.

Going back, through DNA science, it is possible to trace the family relationships of our lineage to nearly 200,000 years ago.

Guess what.  We all were born in Kenya!  You think those ancestors of our were anything but black?  Not until they had migrated and spent a few hundred generations someplace else.

hope that the idiots who have no constructive and creative solutions but only look to tear down will not win the day.

    •  I am not angry (0+ / 0-)

I am laughing. I can't do stand up but I some of my African American freinds in hysterics when I explained the difference between a "white' person and a "Caucasian"
A White person is somebody you meet at a party or a social gathering who has to stop and tell you about "all of his black friends"
and is surprised you don't know any of them
The Caucasian is the light skinned  person who wants to throw his/her drink in the above stated person's face
Believe it or not my "sisters" at work tell me its true. White women, who they barely know, will come up and say "Love your hair" and proceed to run their fingers through it. Cant believe it but its true. My sisters do not lie

But i ask you to consider that we were all 'people of color' long before the election.
In fact, we're all cousins, we're part of the human race.
I've been very unhappy with the behavior of many white folks myself, for a long long time now.
But I also ask you to consider that your anger should be directed at the behavior and not the race.
Don't give up on us white folks. We are NOT all alike.
It's been too long coming (and coming way to slow for my tastes) but we ARE getting better.
what was it? 41%? of white males voted for President Obama this election. If you had told me back in the early 60's that soo many white men would do such a thing one day, I'd probably have run into the house yelling 'mom mom! there's a crazy person outside!'.
Dr. King had it right jamesleo, and people of good character are found in all races. Even amongst us white folks.

  •  NOpe (0+ / 0-)

I am white, and pretty proud of that heritage (I can tell you if you like, which actually includs some Mexican-Americans and Mexicans in the recent past), but I'm prouder to be among the white people who have denounced the traditional disempowerment of people of color and who are actively working to create a nation with liberty and justice for all.

I'm not letting a bunch of jackass racists steal that heritage.  no way, no how.

(Besides, being white, my experience is real different. )
